On a mesh network (Vodafone Pro, Deco, Eero…) the ESP32 can latch
onto a far AP and not re-evaluate. Auto-roam runs every 5 min when
the current AP is below -75 dBm; Roam now evaluates
immediately. Scan shows the list to manually lock
to a specific BSSID.
Chip-temp baseline—
The on-die sensor reads ±20 °C high on some ESP32-PICO-D4 dies — the absolute number isn't useful, but a delta from a known idle baseline is. Run capture once after install; re-run if the room ambient changes a lot.
